There is always something new happening in country music. The stories and songs that come out of Nashville are ever-changing. Country music news keeps you up to date on the happenings of all your favorite performers. By keeping on top of stories, you can always stay in the loop. There are times when the world of music and sports collide. Such is the case for artists Miranda Lambert and Jason Aldean. Both have recently become shareholders of one piece of stock belonging to the Green Bay Packers. This honor is extremely rare and means that the two are welcome now to attend shareholders meetings, tour the locker rooms, watch the team at practices and gain access to conversation with the head coach of the team. While the individual stock Lambert and Aldean own is only worth about $250 each, the ownership of it offers high value perks that most people will rarely have the chance to enjoy in their lifetime. Speaking of Miranda Lambert, she will be holding a Paws for the Cause charity event concert for the fifth year. Proceeds will benefit the MuttNation Foundation, which promotes animal welfare by assisting in the creation of no-kill shelters all around the country. Some other initiatives the foundation supports are adoption drives, low-cost spay and neuter clinics, along with making a concerted effort to eliminate the euthanasia of healthy animals. Once held in Tyler, Texas, the benefit has grown too large to continue being held in its prior venue and has been relocated to Beaumont. The move will offer accommodation for many more spectators, raising even more money for this worthy cause. Another bit of exciting news for the quintessential country fan concerns Tim McGraw. Tim has announced he is looking for a new roadie for his tour with Kenny Chesney called Brothers of the Sun, which kicks off in June. The winner will be traveling with Tim and the gang. You'll travel in a van right behind his tour bus as you roam from tour date to tour date as part of the crew. You and a friend of your choosing will be up front watching every show, enjoying backstage access, watching the stage tear down after each show and even chatting up Tim and Kenny, along with special guests Jake Owen and Grace Potter. If you think this sounds like your big break, you will need to convince Tim by writing up a 250-500 word essay letting him know why you are the right fan for the job. Tim and his corporate sponsor, Pennzoil, will read each submitted essay and decide which lucky fan gets the chance of a lifetime! There is always something amazing coming out of Nashville. It's not just the music; it's the generosity of spirit that makes up the world of country music.

Given the Bay Area climate, it is no surprise that the addition of a deck is close to top of the ROI list. The addition of a mid-range wood deck will return 118% of the cost. (A mid-range deck for the purposes of the survey is a 16 x 20 deck built with pressure-treated timber.) A deck built with composite material costs more and returns a bit less at 110%.

The Cost vs. Value survey can help homeowners see what projects have potential for the best ROI, but it is based on averages and assumptions. Housing in the Bay Area varies greatly, from a San Francisco row house to an Orinda ranch-style house on an acre of land. The underlying principle is that good design built with durable materials will consistently have the best ROI.
